The Crafers Tennis club is located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, adjoining the historic Crafers Hall. We have three Rebound Ace courts with lights that we share with the Crafers Netball Club during winter.
The Crafers Club began in 1937 playing on courts located on the property of The Crafers Inn. These courts were lost in the 1960’s when the South Eastern freeway was built. Without club courts, the club played for 25 years at Stonehenge, Bradwood Park, Scott Creek and Heathfield High School, until in 1993 when we made our current location home. Over the history of the club, it has been run by a dedicated group of volunteers who care strongly about the value of community and love of tennis.
Our club ethos is to provide a fun and friendly environment for our members to play the wonderful game of tennis.
Crafers Tennis Club offers the following competitions:
Our teams play in the Hills Tennis Association (HTA) traditional competition, held on Saturday afternoons from 1pm. Teams are made up of at least four players and are ability based and gender mixed. Each team member will play a singles (one set) and doubles (two sets) match.
The season commences in October and runs through to the end of March, with a break over the Christmas holidays.
Please contact us if you are interested in playing in one of our senior teams.
We offer two night tennis competitions; one through the Hills Tennis Association (HTA) and the other an internal competition.
HTA night tennis is played Tuesday and Wednesday nights starting at 7 pm with mixed gender teams playing other teams from other HTA clubs.
The internal club night tennis is played at 7 pm on a Monday or Thursday night. It is a gender mixed doubles competition and is more social than HTA night tennis.
Both night tennis competitions have a spring (Oct-Dec) and summer (Jan-April) seasons.
Please contact us if you are interested in either competition.
The club offers the Hot Shots Program and plays junior teams in the Hills Tennis Association (HTA) competition on a Saturday morning. Hot Shots is a fun introduction to tennis for beginners aged between 5 and 8 years. Once children have the basic skills and maturity they move into our juniors which has coaching and competition. Players progress through orange, green and yellow ball levels as they develop their tennis skills.
Crafers Tennis Club Juniors get small group coaching as part of their membership with a fully qualified Tennis Australia certified coach once a week during the season.
Please contact us if you are interested in your child playing tennis through the club
download information sheetOur current membership rates and categories can be found by clicking Register Online. Memberships fall in the broad categories of senior, junior, night and social. Generally these are annual although due to the wet winters of the Adelaide Hills; courts are usually only playable from September to April inclusive.
Social membership provides you with access to the Crafers courts when they are not required for competition or coaching on a first come first serve basis.
Please contact us if you wish to use the courts on an one-off basis.
